After our defeat last week, our Gloomhaven group decided to do something different. Starting this week we are now letting our Twitch Chat Room determine which scenario we are going to play each week. This time they picked Scenario 24 Echo Chamber.
Warning: There will be spoilers during this board game playthrough and within the images in this blog post.

A surprise ending to Gloomhaven scenario number 24
We are still playing around with camera position for these recordings. So far feedback has been positive in regards to the much more close up view of the game. The problem is still transitioning from the beginning of the video to when we get to the actual scenario. I do think the camera position we used at the end worked rather well. I would love to hear what you think of these changes to our presentation.
One of the main things that really stuck out about this scenario was the map. This was one of the most unique and busiest maps we’ve seen in Gloomhaven so far. One of the things that struck me about Gloomhaven, back when I first started seeing pictures of the game, is how unique the maps look. The rooms are unusual shapes and fit together in rather interesting ways. That and the designers do a great job of combining the tiles in unique ways, using things like overlay tiles to connect various rooms. These aren’t the square and rectangular, often symmetrical, dungeons you are used to seeing.
The other great part about this scenario was the goal. Yet again it was not about killing all of the monsters. Our goal this week was to just open all of the doors. This seemed easy enough but then there was that damn chest in the corner in the room with all the oozes. I think the actual difficulty in this scenario isn’t opening all the doors, it’s opening all the doors and getting that chest.
Of course, the biggest surprise of this video comes at the end. If you jump to the 2 hour and 53 minute mark in the video you can see this dramatic twist!
