A Review of EXIT The Game: The Catacombs of Horror, a very difficult, two part, escape room in a box

October 24, 2020 by Moe T. 1 Comment

Now is the time of year for playing Halloween themed board games. To that end, over the last couple of days, we have played through EXIT: The Catacombs of Horror. A rather difficult puzzle-filled board game from Thames & KOSMOS.

The Catacombs of Horror is the largest, longest and hardest of the EXIT series of puzzle games, rated at a four and a half out of five on the difficulty scale. It is split into two distinct chapters and is meant to be played over one or two sittings. Note this review will be spoiler-free.  [ READ MORE ]

18 of the Best Two Player Board Games you can buy right now, the Two Player New Hotness.

October 18, 2020 by Moe T. Leave a Comment

Some board games can seem intimidating, with a thick rulebook, lots of components, or too many things to learn all at once. Sometimes though a boardgame will surprise you by looking complicated when in reality it isn't.

Two player board games continue to be extremely popular. The question I get asked the most is some variation on "what are the best two-player board games?" Today's version of that question comes from a couple brand new to gaming. So today I'm going to look at some of the hottest newly published two-player tabletop games.
Willie Waldman writes:
My girlfriend and I are getting into gaming. I would like to know some of the games you think are the most fun for 2 players. Any category. Any size. Any type. We play at home. We are new to this so any help would be appreciated. Thank you! [ READ MORE ]

EXIT The Game: The Haunted Roller Coaster, gateway escape room in a box, Review

August 31, 2020 by Moe T. Leave a Comment

The Haunted Roller Coaster is promoted by Kosmos as being the gateway to their EXIT: The Game series of escape room in a box board games.

While this wasn't our first EXIT experience and we aren't beginners, I do have to say that Kosmos nailed it with The Haunted Roller Coaster. This is a fantastic puzzle game and would indeed be an excellent entry point to the EXIT series.  [ READ MORE ]

The House of Riddles is part of the Exit series of board games. It's the second of these escape room in a box board games from Thames & KOSMOS that my wife and I have tried.

The Best Two Player Cooperative Games – Ask The Bellhop

December 7, 2019 by Moe T. 6 Comments

Cooperative games are becoming more popular and are actually pretty common now a days. What is hard to find is a great two-player cooperative game. Even harder to find is a cooperative game that is two-player only.

Ryan Peach writes:
“Looking for a good 2 player co-op. Specifically 2 player only. As a blind meeple asking this question I'd mentally discounted [many games] I play with sighted assistance. A game where the second player does something different but still interesting and where both parties can talk to each other would do.” [ READ MORE ]

EXIT: The Game – The Secret Lab – A Look at this Escape Room in a Box – Review.

October 21, 2019 by Moe T. 2 Comments

Escape rooms are becoming more and more of a big deal around the world. Along with that popularity has come a wide variety of tabletop escape room games, for an escape room at home. Today I'm going to look at one of these escape room board games: Exit The Game: The Secret Lab.

This is actually my first time playing any of these boardgame escape room games. I intend this review to be as spoiler free as possible. Anything I talk about or share pictures of are things you are going to see in the first moments of playing the game. They won't contain any hints or clues of what is to come later. [ READ MORE ]
