First up, happy holidays to everyone reading this. I hope this season has been filled with games and gaming.

With 2018 coming to and end I thought this would be a good time to do a look back at the past year. The way the timing works out we will be recording our last podcast of the year on Boxing Day and that episode will release on New Years Day. So I thought this would make for a great discussion topic for that show.

One of the first questions I answered here on the Tabletop Bellhop blog was "What are some good two player games?" This is, by far, the most popular post I've written. It's also one that I still get a lot of comments on. Many of those comments are asking me for more specific two player game recommendations. People want to know what are the best board games for couples, or games to play on date night.

Playing games is something my wife and I do together often. When we do have a night out without the kids it often involves a nice meal, some craft beer, and some gaming. Over the years we've found quite a few games that work great for when it's just the two of us. [ READ MORE ]

Extra Life Gaming Marathon and a bit more – Tabletop Gaming Weekly

My week started off with a game of Brass Lancashire, but the big news was that Extra Life, a worldwide charity gaming event, was this past weekend.

While I did spend most of Extra Life organizing events, teaching games, running auctions and trying to get people to part with their money I did get in quite a bit of gaming. A total of 11 game plays spread over 8 different games. [ READ MORE ]

It was a good week for me gaming wise. Quite a few games in both digital and in person.

Online I'm still playing Race for the Galaxy, 7 Wonders and lots of Tokaido. In person, we continued our Gloomhaven campaign and I got Istanbul: The Dice Game and the new printing of Saint Petersburg off my pile of shame.
