Take a look at what you get in the box for Disney Sidekicks, a cooperative board game from famed game designer Eric M. Lang.
In this game, players take on the role of popular Disney Sidekicks who are attempting to rescue their heroes and defeat some of Disney’s most notorious villains.
Disclosure: Thanks to The Op for sending us a copy of this cooperative board game to check out.

When the Disney Heroes are in trouble, it’s up to the Sidekicks to save the day! Treacherous Disney Villains have teamed up and captured your favourite Disney Heroes, locking them in a well-guarded castle. As crafty and courageous Disney Sidekicks, you must work together in this cooperative strategy game to rescue the Heroes, save the local Villagers, and defeat the Villains. But it won’t be easy – the Villains will throw everything at you to defend the castle, from castle guards and hyenas to loyal Henchmen and magical curses. On each turn, you and your fellow Sidekicks will face new dangers and challenges, trying to stay healthy while preventing the Villains from reaching their goals. Rescue captured Villagers to unlock additional powers and help you in your quest. Rescue all the Heroes and defeat at least 1 Villain, and the Sidekicks win! The adventure comes to life with detailed Sidekick and Villain figures, 3D sculpted castle towers and bridges, and a colourful kingdom game board. Great for gamers, Disney collectors, and fun-loving families alike, Disney Sidekicks is for 2 to 4 players, ages 8 and up.
This cooperative game ended up being much more complex and way more difficult than we expected. Read all about it in my Disney Sidekicks review.
What’s the last game you picked up that was quite different from what you expected? Tell us about it in the comments below!
