Two new Games from Ravensburger: Horrified, and Minecraft Builders & Biomes – Tabletop Gaming Weekly

November 11, 2019 by Moe T. Leave a Comment

Due to the big Extra Life event last weekend, there wasn't a lot of gaming going over the past few days. The only games I played this week are two new games from Ravensburger. Minecraft Builders & Biomes and Horrified.

I played both of these games with the Tabletop Bellhop team on the Monday after Extra Life, before Sean had to head home to Hamilton.

I Need to get Anachrony and Endeavor Age of Sail to the Table More Often – Tabletop Gaming Weekly

October 14, 2019 by Moe T. Leave a Comment

This past week I played a couple of board games that I need to play more often. They were my Kickstarter copy of Endeavor Age of Sail and the time-travelling boardgame: Anachrony.

This past weekend was our Extra Life Board Game Blitz charity board game tournament. I played Endeavor the Monday before the event to brush up on the rules, and at the event, a table of gamers insisted I play Anachrony with them during the final round of the tournament.

Playing Azul at a Rather Geeky Wedding – Tabletop Gaming Weekly

October 7, 2019 by Moe T. Leave a Comment

This is going to be a very short look back at the games I played last week. That's because the only game I played was the board game Azul played at a Wedding.

Back in April I wrote a blog post about playing tabletop games at weddings and it was awesome to see a friend actually put it into practice.

September 30, 2019 by Moe T. Leave a Comment

This past weekend was our Level up with Extra Life charity roleplaying event. At that event, I played in games of Paranoia and Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition.

In addition to some roleplaying on the weekend, I also played a couple of five-player games of Horizon on Monday.

ComiCon Demos, EZY Mode Gaming, and Home Games – Tabletop Gaming Weekly

September 24, 2019 by Moe T. Leave a Comment

I got in a lot of different game plays this week. Today I'm going to be sharing my thoughts on the board games: Imhotep, Eminent Domain (and the Escalation expansion), Tyrants of the Underdark, Bastille, Bohnanza, Kingdomino, Funkoverse Harry Potter, Azul and Go Cuckoo.

The reason for such a variety of games this past week was due to two big events going down. First up was another game night at EZY Mode and the second was Windsor ComiCon, where I was doing demos of games and raising money for Extra Life. [ READ MORE ]

Tanto Cuore, B Sides in Imhotep, and First Plays of Tyrants of the Underdark – Tabletop Gaming Weekly

September 16, 2019 by Moe T. Leave a Comment

This past week started off with some anime deck-building with Tanto Cuore. It ended with a game night at The CG Realm where I got in a couple more plays of Imhotep Builder of Egypt and tried out Tyrants of the Underdark for the first time.

Tanto went over better than expected, Imhotep continues to impress and I was really impressed by Tyrants. [ READ MORE ]

First plays of Zombicide: Invader and Imhotep. Giving Lotus Another Shot and Eminent Domain – Tabletop Gaming Weekly

September 9, 2019 by Moe T. Leave a Comment

This past week I got some new stuff to the table. Up first was my friend Mike's copy of the cooperative board game Zombicide: Invader from CMON. Then on Sunday, I got to try both Imhotep and the Eminent Domain Escalation expansion for the first time.

In addition to these new gameplays we also played the base game of Eminent Domain a couple of times and we gave Lotus another shot with Tori and Kat. [ READ MORE ]

Raiders of the North Sea, Sorcerer and Some Digital Board Game Arena Streaming – Tabletop Gaming Weekly

September 2, 2019 by Moe T. Leave a Comment

I only got a couple of physical games to the tablet this week. The first was the fantastic Raiders of the North Sea from Renegade games and the second was a two-player game of Sorcerer from White Wizard Games.

I noted physical games because the other thing we did this past week is start something new. Thursday nights we're planning on live streaming some digital board game plays. This past Thursday Deanna, Sean and I played and live streamed a few rounds of Carcassonne played over Board Game Arena.
Besides streaming Carcassonne the three of us have also been trying out Through the Ages (the new edition) on BGA and enjoying it quite a bit. I also gave Kingdomino a try. Read on to see my thoughts on all of these games. [ READ MORE ]

First plays of Tower Of Madness, more King of the Dice and a return to Lotus – Tabletop Gaming Weekly

August 19, 2019 by Moe T. 2 Comments

The big game that I got to the table this week was Tower of Madness from Smirk & Dagger Games. This game takes the Kerplunk mechanic and adds a Cthulhu mythos themed game to it.

I broke out Tower of Madness at EZY Mode and during that same event I also played King of the Dice and Lotus. In addition to the games played I also taught a few games and plenty of other games got played that I wasn't involved in. [ READ MORE ]
